Many thanks to the Chadds Ford Post for reporting on the Atwater Road situation. It is over a year since I brought this to the supervisors' attention and received no response. Between the publicity of this newspaper and the upcoming competitive elections, we are finally seeing some action. The question of snow on Atwater Road may not be a major issue since it is well plowed, thanks to our roadmaster. Often, on the worst days, the schools and/or Webb Road are not open.
The repaving of Atwater has still not been accomplished, so we wait with baited breath.
The speeding traffic on Webb could be handled by a three-way stop sign or speed bumps. Few, if any, cars travel at the posted speed limit in that area. This might, for example, be much more conducive to maintaining safe traffic flow on this very busy street than the seemingly unnecessary three-way stop at Oakland Road and Faucett Drive.
While we are on the topic of road safety, there are traffic lights for the convenience of a few at the Pennsbury Township building and at Kendal, while busy arteries like Parkersville and Webb are left with dangerous left turns on to Route 1. Additionally, it is by no means clear to us that Webb has less traffic than Ring. One wonders if the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is really operating on objective assessments or is paying too much attention to squeaky wheels.
It would be interesting to see published the PennDOT data on all of the above thoroughfares and how current are the numbers.
