Leader serves

the greater Chadds Ford community

Government should serve its greater community. By the greater community I mean the users of the roadways, businesses and facilities in Chadds Ford. I write as a 21-year resident of the greater community, a Sunoco retiree and friend of Jim Leader. We are fortunate to have such people serve us. Leader's Sunoco supplies more gasoline to the greater community than any other station, and Jim always posts the best prices. That is just smart business but there is more.

Jim, an excellent technician, has employed highly qualified and competent automotive experts to keep the vehicles of the greater community running in good order. They provide quality repairs and guarantee them. Jim keeps his equipment and business state-of-the-art.

Leader's Sunoco offers a clean, professional image. In the winter the drive is plowed and salted, in warm weather the lawn is cut and the flowers colorful. The staff is neat and well-groomed and the restroom is clean.

Jim regularly offers his station to the greater community for their car washes. Local schools and others fund their activities because of Leader's generosity. Every year Jim's daughters sell us our Girl Scout cookies.

Every Christmas Eve Leader's offers a free lunch to the public because they are grateful to the greater community. Jim and Maryanne Leader, Janet, Steve, Kevin, Valerie, Harley and the rest of Jim's staff are a credit to themselves, Chadds Ford and the greater community.

It seems to me that corporate logos and brand design should be left to those who have their money invested in the outcome. It seems to me that the local government should do everything it can to support Leader's Sunoco because it is clear Leader's is doing everything they can to serve the greater community.
