Civic board should seek out, not deny, Democrats As a resident of Chadds Ford Township, a registered Republican and an advisory member to the Chadds Ford Republican Committee, I am of the opinion that Marc Altman understates the position of the Civic Association in stating that all it does is clean streets and throw a party for the community once a year. I agree with Mr. Altman when he states that the Civic Association should not be partisan. What I do not understand is why we do not seek out Democratic representation on the Civic Association board. If we do not, I would agree with Peter Jesson when he states, "Their [the Chadds Ford Republican Party] day will come." I ask all Chadds Ford Republicans to take a look at the vote count of the recent election. Let us not be so naive to believe the political landscape of Chadds Ford cannot and will not change, if we do not start changing our Republican ways. So let us consider making it possible to see if we cannot find a way to have Rob Porter serve on the Chadds Ford Civic Association Board. Let's be non-partisan in word and in deed.
